Can you use Seedance for free?
Seedance is ByteDance's family of video models. GenModelHub runs four of them – Seedance 1.5 Pro, 2 Mini, 2.0 and 2.5 – and gives every new user free credits. Seedance 1.5 Pro is the cheapest at 1 credit per second, so your free credits cover several short clips with sound before you pay anything. There is no ByteDance, Dreamina or CapCut account needed and no subscription.
Which Seedance model you can try free
Seedance 1.5 Pro – 1 credit per second, 4, 8 or 12 s. A 4-second clip is 4 credits, well inside the free credits.
Seedance 2 Mini – 2 credits per second, 5 or 10 s. A 5-second clip is 10 credits, so one free clip after signing in.
Seedance 2.0 and 2.5 – 6 and 10 credits per second. These need paid credits: a 5-second clip is 30 or 50 credits.
How to get the most out of free Seedance credits
1. Write the full prompt first – subject, action, setting, one camera move and the sound.
2. Render 4 seconds on Seedance 1.5 Pro to check the result.
3. Change one thing per attempt.
4. When the prompt works, decide whether the scene needs Seedance 2.5; simple shots usually don't.
Seedance free vs paid
Free credits are for trying the models. If you want more clips, the Starter pack is a one-time $9 for 100 credits – 25 four-second Seedance 1.5 Pro clips – with no subscription. Monthly plans lower the price per credit if you generate often. Paid videos can be used commercially, subject to the terms.
